Research and Development of Rotating Machines using High Temperature superconductor Materials - Fundamentals, Applications, and Future Prospects - Prof. T. Nakamura

In the frame of the Excellence Department initiative, Prof. Taketsune Nakamura from University of Kyoto (Japan) will give an interesting seminar on the development of innovative electric motors using superconductor materials

The research interest of Prof. Taketsune Nakamura are related to superconducting motors and development of normal conducting motor systems for E-drives, lamination technology for neodymium magnets.

Short Bio:
While a student at Kyushu University, Dr. Taketsune Nakamura studied the physical properties of high-temperature superconductors. Since becoming a professor at Kyoto University, he has been conducting the basic research into rotation principles, design and control technology of various rotating machines, as well as applied research into automobiles, aircrafts, and liquefied hydrogen pumps.
Many of his published papers are about superconducting motors, but he has also conducted a wide range of research and development with the support of large funding from Japanese national projects, including the development of normal conducting motor systems for E-drives, lamination technology for neodymium magnets, Halbach motors, etc.
