The IEA Scenarios and Their Role in Shaping and Supporting the Energy Transition
The seminar will provide insights into the IEA modelling framework and the main scenarios analysed by the agency. By analysing the current configuration of the energy system and the changes needed to reach a Net Zero Scenario, the discussion will have a special focus on the deployment of clean energy technologies and opportunities related to their manufacturing.
The speech will be offered by Francesco Pavan. He is an Energy Technology Analyst in the Hydrogen and Alternative Fuels Unit at the International Energy Agency (IEA).
He focuses on modelling hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels production, conducting research on related technologies, and collecting data and mapping the development of the sector, from production projects to policy frameworks. Previously, he worked on modelling industrial energy consumption within the Energy Technology Policy Division. He holds a Master’s Degree in Energy and Nuclear Engineering from Politecnico di Torino.
